Bio

Stevie Garcia is a Southern California native guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and graduate with high honors from USC’s prestigious Thornton School of Music with a BM in Jazz Studies - Guitar (1st in school's history). In the recent past (2022-23), Stevie was the full time guitarist with the Funk / R&B band “Tyghtship”, led by Marvin Banks Jr. (Stevie Wonder, Patrice Rushen, GAP Band, Ohio Players). In 2019, Stevie embarked on a journey overseas, playing Rock, Jazz, Pop and Show Tunes onboard the P&O cruise line, traveling to Australia, New Zealand, and five other countries. From 2017-19, he has played every night of the Orange County Fair (1.4 million visitors per year) as lead guitarist with the Rock N’ Roll Experience (Live Band Karaoke), with 200+ classic songs and solos memorized. The group held a 10 month residency, from 2017-18, at the Silver Legacy and El Dorado casinos in Reno, Nevada. In 2017, he performed lead guitar at the Troubadour in Hollywood, for the sold out FAME TV Show 35th Anniversary Reunion Concert, with the original cast. For years, Stevie has performed guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele in professional musicals throughout the So-Cal area, now amongst Broadway and TV/Film veterans. Experienced with Church music; he was the gospel music director at Del Aire Baptist Church, in Hawthorne, CA. His excellent sight reading, improvisation, showmanship, transcribing ear, multi-genre, and multi-instrumentalist ability have made him capable of performing in any situation.

Currently, Stevie is the electric guitarist touring with “The Outlaw Mariachi” (co-led by Mavero and Ricky, the two former frontmen of Metalachi, and joined by Belle on violin, of The Mariachi Divas), and is actively recording guitar for their debut album. He’s also co-writing and producing music with multi-platinum producer, Victor Taylor (aka. X-Man, credits: Ice Cube, Mack 10, Prince), for the original future funk project, Funkonaut, the music collective, Cozmosis, as well as for other artists. He also leads a Jimi Hendrix Tribute, "Hendrix Haze", on lead vocals and guitar, as well as performs in various jazz, rock, pop, and R&B groups in the LA area. Instruments include: Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Steel String Guitar, Electric Bass, Upright Bass, Banjo (4 and 5 string), Mandolin, Ukulele, Vocals, and Keyboard. He continues to perform, record, teach, practice, and write music full time. Stevie endorses Risson Amplifiers, invented by legendary amp builder Bob Rissi (Slash, Lita Ford, Jimmy Page, Glen Campbell, Al Perkins), and endorses D'Angelico Guitars (H.E.R., Bob Weir, Isaiah Sharkey, Russell Malone).
