So one time I got asked to play in the stage band for the 25th anniversary FAME TV Show cast reunion concert, in Hollywood, California at the world famous Troubadour. I got the music three days before the show, and it was piano music lacking any important guitar parts. I had to rewrite most of the charts and transcribe the guitar parts for accurate live parts. It was fun to see the Channel 5 news anchor I grew up watching, announce the show I was playing in throughout the day. The show was an amazing sold out success. I got to hang out with the celebrity cast members and they were kind enough to sign my sheet music, which I transcribed and printed myself for the show. Being able to quickly transcribe music into notes after briefly hearing it has been a life saver in my professional career. I'm constantly listening to new music and interpreting it on my instruments, and in notated form. The joy of learning is a never ending journey. Here's my signed sheet music.
